- You can take a body shower for 2-3 minutes after the surgery, there is no harm in it as long as the water is neither too cold nor too hot.
- It is suggested that showers shouldn’t take too long and the water is not too hot, although your bandages are waterproof, you should still be careful about not getting them wet. (If it gets wet, you should dry it with a hair dryer.)
- There is a possibility that you might have silicone nasal tampons in your nose. Even if you have that silicone nasal packing or not, you won’t be able to breathe clearly because of edema and dried blood.
- You should clean your inner nose with seawater. (4-5 times daily.) (Spray will be given)
- After the cleaning, you should use antibiotic cream on your nostril stitches (Day and night.)
- After the 10th day, to reduce the scars, you can start using anti-scar creams(Contractubex, scarex, madexassol one of these brands) on the cut points. It will reduce the visibility of scars at a high rate.

- After the surgery, you should make sure that you’re sleeping with your head up until the bandages are taken off.
- Avoid sleeping face down or sidewards. (You can use a travel pillow to help yourself to keep your head up.)
- The plaster that covers your nose will be taken off at the clinic. Doctor will give you a temporary plaster.
- After the first week, banding and temporary plaster will be done which will stay for a week. If possible, you should also bandage yourself in a way where it will stay during the night. (For a month.)
- After the second week, start doing the massages that has been described to you. You should do it for 3 months, 4-5 times a day that will take 1-2 minutes.
- You can brush your teeth with a soft brush.
- It is not suggested for you to eat too crunchy things that will require you to chew a lot and also, you should try avoiding too salty things as well.
- You might suffer from an empurpling under your eyes/on the eyelids which will stay there for a week. You should try avoiding contact with sunlight when you have bruises.
- You can use Arnica cream for the empurplified area. (Don’t get it in your eyes.)

- The swelling after surgery reduces by %50-%60 by the end of the first month and it will go back to normal between 4 to 6 months. With the thick skins, this could take almost a year.
- Swellings do not reduce equally so this might feel like you have an asymmetry at your nose but do not worry.
- It is normal for you to feel numb at the tip of your nose for 3 months and a little stiffness for 6 months.
- Parsley, pineapple, green tea and things like that can help you while you’re trying to get rid of edema and swelling.
