Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the shape or size of the nose. This procedure can be done for aesthetic purposes, such as improving the appearance of the nose or restoring the balance of the nose. The procedure may also be done for functional purposes, such as correcting nasal breathing problems or repairing damage caused by injury or trauma.

The rhinoplasty procedure is usually done under anesthesia and takes a few hours. The surgeon changes the shape or size of the nose by reshaping the infrastructure of the nose. This can be done by cutting or adding the nasal bone and cartilage. The surgeon also remodels the skin, improving the appearance of the nose.

After the rhinoplasty procedure, the patient usually requires bed rest for a few days and the swelling and bruises around the nose are reduced. In the first week after surgery, the patient usually uses pain medications and uses bandages or nasal packings around the nose. Swelling and bruises around the nose usually decrease within a few weeks, and full recovery after rhinoplasty takes a few months.

The rhinoplasty procedure is performed by a surgeon and is usually performed in a surgical clinic or hospital setting. The procedure is usually performed under anesthesia and is performed as an outpatient, meaning the patient can go home the same day. Post-surgery, the patient usually requires bed rest for a few days and then begins to return to normal.
